Started with a purpose
Alteration Artisans began in 2019 with a simple idea: clothing should be worth keeping when it can be repaired, reshaped, or thoughtfully redesigned.
We reshape garments with care, from practical alterations to redesign work that gives well-loved pieces a new life.
Alteration Artisans works by appointment in Hadsten, helping customers update fit, refresh style, and make better use of the garments they already own. Each project begins with an assessment of the fabric, construction, and the changes you want to achieve.
Our work is especially suited to sustainability minded customers, vintage clothing owners, and anyone bringing in a garment with personal meaning. We focus on clear scope, realistic expectations, and considered craftsmanship from first fitting to collection.
Our process grew from the need for honest guidance, clear fitting discussions, and redesign work that stays grounded in the fabric in front of us.
Alteration Artisans began in 2019 with a simple idea: clothing should be worth keeping when it can be repaired, reshaped, or thoughtfully redesigned.
Founder Mathilde Jensen built the studio around appointment-led work, so every garment could be inspected properly before any quote or concept was agreed.
Today, the studio handles remodelling, fit updates, and upcycling projects with a practical approach that respects both the original garment and the final result.

Our values are built around honest assessment, careful workmanship, and practical redesign choices that suit the garment in front of us.
We explain the likely scope of a project before work begins, then confirm the details once the garment has been assessed. That helps keep expectations practical and the process straightforward.
When available, we aim to match original thread and trim so the finish stays as cohesive as possible. If a perfect match is not available, we discuss the options before proceeding.
Redesign work is guided by the garment itself. Usable fabric, construction, and wear all influence what can be achieved, so each concept is reviewed before approval.
We work with garments that are worn, vintage, or sentimental, and we approach them with the same attention to fit, finish, and long-term wearability.
